The real 4th of July

Finally... it's the fourth!

The fourth of July was a funny day for me. It was the first day I actually felt like a "grown up". Like suddenly I was old.

My grandma called me a few days prior to let me know what the family plans were and what time the party was starting. Before hanging up the phone she asked; "What are you bringing to dinner?". I wasn't sure what she meant but she couldn't possible by asking me to contribute to the pot-luck was she? Oh you bet she was! Apparently now that I am a married woman (aka "grown up") I am responsible for bringing food to the family parties...

Grown-up or not, we had a blast on the fourth of July.

Please note that Raymo rocked his Scotland football (soccer) jersey on the 4th. I loved it.

This is supposed to say "Hollowell", although it looks more like "Hallewell"

We had no idea that the camera had so many fun options...
See all those tiny stars? Pretty dang cool right?

cul-de-sac of FIRE!

Since the fourth of July landed on a Sunday this year we celebrated not only one day, but two days!

 double the food
double the fun
 double the friends
double the fireworks

Awesome.

Yeehaw!

Life has been a non-stop party since the wedding. We got home just in time for the fourth of July celebrations to start and there was no shortage of holiday partying for the Hollowell's.

We kicked things off with a trip to the Rodeo. Raymo, Dave McQueen (Raymo's friend from Scotland and best man) and myself all donned our cowboy duds and headed to Oakley for some down-home fun.

Now, you know me... I am crazy about anything horse. What I wouldn't give to trade in my darling apartment for the smelly stables. I could take the great outdoors, I know I could. So just imagine how excited I was to be at the rodeo... Now, just imagine how excited the boys were to be at their VERY FIRST RODEO! Yep, I'd day it was a pretty exciting night for all of us.

Yeehaw!

Married life is too much fun.

So much fun that we forgot about the blog.

BUT

I'm going to get this thing caught up to date even if it kills me.

Long time coming

Last August, Raymo and I started the long process of applying for a Fiance Visa.

August was a long time ago.

and now, about 9 months later, I am happy to say...

WE"RE APPROVED.

May 6th came and went and it did indeed treat us sweetly.

The Big Week...

So it's that time now. It has eventually come after more paperwork than you can imagine. The Interview is finally here....

Tomorrow I take the big trip down to London for the Interview on Thursday. I have to say that I've not had a proper sleep since the letter came in. I'm not sure whether it's excitement or nervousness. Probably a bit of both. Regardless it's eventually here, I'm prepared and my fingers are well and truly crossed!

Hopefully there will be some good news on Thursday!
